WorkSite to Help Leading Chinese Law Firm Collaborate and Manage Documents Across the Organization
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - April 26, 2004 - Interwoven Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the world's next-generation enterprise content management (ECM) company, today announced that King & Wood, one of the largest law firms in the People's Republic of China, has selected Interwoven WorkSite 8.0 for its collaboration and document management platform. King & Wood will use WorkSite 8.0 to collaborate with various internal branches and external offices, and to manage e-mail and documents throughout the organization.
King & Wood currently faces the challenge of managing numerous, complicated cases from geographically dispersed workplaces, and managing frequent updates of document versions. WorkSite 8.0 will provide the firms' attorneys and other professionals within the organization the ability to go beyond regions and networks to build a "virtual" cooperative workspace. With WorkSite, King & Wood will be able to establish a document management system that enables them to draft, confirm, and finalize contracts with clients, as well as aggregate and share this data in its core enterprise knowledge base. With critical integrated capabilities such as collaboration, document management, and e-mail management, WorkSite will help users improve efficiencies and ensure accuracy of information.
Released earlier this year, Interwoven's innovative WorkSite 8.0 Server software is a leading collaboration and document management platform based on a new paradigm known as "matter centric collaboration" (MCC). MCC represents a fundamental, user-centric design, which, for the first time, enables lawyers and other professional services practitioners to do in the electronic world what they have done for more than 100 years in the physical world. MCC creates the true electronic equivalent of a case file by consolidating documents, e-mails, billing, contacts, and all other relevant content for any given matter in a single integrated file that is accessible both internally and externally across departments and locations.
"The fact that a top global firm like King & Wood has chosen Interwoven validates that law firms continue to discover that the switch to WorkSite provides their lawyers with more value - and is less expensive and less risky than upgrading their current systems," said Mike Chen, general manager of Greater China for Interwoven. "It also signifies a vote of confidence from our customers and the industry alike that Interwoven is an innovative thought leader, providing reliable solutions that solve today's challenges in the legal industry."
King & Wood is a leading law firm in the People's Republic of China with extensive experience in all major areas of domestic and international practices. It provides quality and efficient legal services to Chinese and foreign clients alike. Founded in Beijing in 1993, King & Wood is today one of the largest law firms in China with experienced practitioners knowledgeable in practically every major field of law to provide comprehensive legal services to meet the diverse needs of its clients.
