Interwoven Content Management Platform Underpins Nearly Half of All Siemens Internet and Intranet Sites Worldwide, Results in Tremendous Operational Cost Reduction and Global Brand Control

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -August 25, 2003- Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), a world leader in content management for the enterprise, announces that the Siemens USA Internet presence (www.usa.siemens.com) has gone live with the Interwoven platform. The launch of the Siemens USA site further extends Interwoven's critical role as the global content and brand management platform for Siemens worldwide.

Prior to adopting the Interwoven platform, Siemens faced several challenges from a content management perspective. These included redundant and incompatible content management systems, inability to reuse content, fragmented IT schedules, external agency costs, and multiple hosting and support costs. Prior to Interwoven, content updates throughout Siemens were done by IT departments and external agencies, and these costs adversely impacted site maintenance. Siemens turned the corner early in 2000 by putting in place a global strategy that would enable business users to adopt a common platform for content creation, administration, reuse, and publishing via Interwoven.

"At Siemens, innovation is at the core of our success," said Jack Bergen, senior vice president Corporate Affairs and Marketing for Siemens Corporation. "Innovations from Interwoven have helped us to effectively standardize how we communicate and present our offerings internally as well as externally - to customers, partners, and other constituencies via the Web. Interwoven's services already have enabled us to extend our corporate brand identity to the Web while actually reducing overall operating costs. This is a compelling equation for any corporate communicator."

With the Interwoven platform at its core, Siemens Corporate Content Management Infrastructure (CCMI) functions as a set of customized content management and delivery services that are capable of supporting multiple initiatives across Siemens. Support for these initiatives include more than 25 Internet sites and 2,000+ users worldwide.

"Ensuring a consistent corporate brand, providing customers with timely, accurate product information, and increasing global productivity are all critical elements in today's competitive marketplace," said John Bara, senior vice president of marketing for Interwoven. "Siemens' reliance on Interwoven as an important cornerstone in its overall eBusiness strategy is a testimony to our industry leadership and to Siemens' trust in our ability to deliver a comprehensive solution that will help to further their business goals."
