Industry Leader Expands Asia Pacific Presence to Address Growing Need for Enterprise Content Management Solutions

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -August 18, 2003- Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), a world leader in content management for the enterprise, today announced the official opening of its office in Mumbai, India. Former Interwoven sales manager in Singapore, Sunil Chavan, assumes the new position of country manager for India. Chavan has a strong and successful background in managing sales operations with companies like MphasiS BFL, eFunds Technology, and HCL.

"The opening of the India office creates an important base for Interwoven to build on our continued success throughout Asia Pacific," said Anurag Srivastava, vice president of Asia Pacific (APAC) Operations, Interwoven. "This investment reinforces our presence in the APAC market where we already have a significant customer base. Encouraged by the steady growth of business in India and the emerging demand for comprehensive content management solutions, we've recently secured a number of key new Interwoven customers in this region."

India is "Key Growth Market" According to Industry Analysts

Interwoven has already seen success with its content management offerings in India, and according to research analyst group IDC, India is being touted as one of "Five for the Future" and a key growth market for IT and Communications. The analyst group's recent findings also indicate that the Content Applications/Content Management software market for 2002 was estimated at around USD13 million and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 32%, to reach an estimated size of USD 52 million by 2007.

Speaking at the office opening in Mumbai, Srivastava said, "India is a very important market for Interwoven. The time is right for content management as business users continue to demand access to more and more diverse information in their decision-making processes. We are committed to growing the Indian market, and in the coming months, in response to the demand we've seen, Interwoven's strategy will be to focus specifically on the financial services and telecommunications sectors, as well as solutions that address knowledge management requirements across the enterprise."
