Interwoven Metafinder Solution Can Benefit Anyone in the Chemicals Industry
Sunnyvale, Calif. - December 4, 2000 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leading provider of enterprise-class content management software, today announced that Eastman Chemical Company, one of the world's largest chemical manufacturers, has implemented Interwoven Metafinder information retrieval system, together with the chemical version of their Metasaurus vocabulary set. This new service will allow Eastman customers and employees to find a broad array of chemical products without having to know precisely how to ask for information.
"The power of this solution is going to have a fundamental effect on how Eastman does business on-line," said John Hellwig, vice president and general manager of Interwoven's Content Analytics business unit. "We've taken Eastman's extensive internal product catalog and mapped it to a Chemical vocabulary meta-thesaurus with over one million terms. Combining this with Metafinder's ability to adjust queries for nearly any spelling variation will take Eastman's site to a whole new level of user satisfaction."
"The ease of implementation and the fact that Metafinder could work seamlessly with our existing product catalog led to our decision to purchase the software," said Jenny Quillen, content manager of Eastman.com. "Leveraging our internal resources like this gives us a competitive advantage. We're excited about the opportunities this solution offers us"
