Streamlined Content Management Integrated with ATG Dynamo will Ensure a Compelling Web Experience for Site Visitors
SUNNYVALE, Calif.-November 27, 2000 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), today announced that Transora, the global B2B eMarketplace for the consumer packaged goods industry is using Interwoven TeamSite as its content management platform. TeamSite is allowing Transora to provide its users a compelling Web experience by providing its global audience with timely, relevant and targeted content.
Transora is the first global, industry-led eMarketplace serving the consumer products industry. Formed by more than 50 of the world's leading consumer products companies, Transora's investors represent a combined purchasing power of $500 billion, more than half of the global consumer products industry.
"Transora has selected TeamSite because it provides the scalable and flexible content management platform needed for a global B2B site like ours," said Alex Gibbons, acting CTO for Transora. "TeamSite's open architecture means that it will easily integrate with our other best-of-breed eBusiness technologies including ATG, Ariba and i2 so we can meet our aggressive global roll-out plans."
Interwoven TeamSite is allowing Transora to empower subject matter experts of all technical ability to contribute content without technical training. With TeamSite, members of Transora's global team can manage their own site content from locations around the world. TeamSite allows all contributors to work in parallel and QA their own work without relying on the Web team who are concentrating their efforts on the architecture of the site.
TeamSite Templating, which separates form from content, makes content entry and tagging with metadata easy for non-technical contributors. XML Metadata, on a product promotion page as an example, could include information such as product categories, suppliers, dates, etc. that can be used by the ATG Dynamo Product suite. TeamSite's XML metadata capture will also allow Transora future opportunities to share content with other eBusiness applications such as Ariba and i2.
"Transora is integrating best-of-breed technologies to truly transform the consumer packaged goods industry," said Frank Florence, vice president and general manager of Interwoven's B2B business unit. "We are very pleased that Interwoven's advanced workflow and TeamSite Templating has allowed Transora to leverage the knowledge of subject matter experts from inside and outside the company to quickly build and frequently update a body of timely, relevant content."
Transora is also using Interwoven OpenDeploy software to replicate content from the TeamSite development environment to the production environment including the ATG Dynamo Product Suite. OpenDeploy, in conjunction with TeamSite's metatagging, will make future opportunities for content re-use easy and seamless between Transora and its partners.
Transora is the world's largest open, standards-based business-to-business (B2B) eMarketplace for the global consumer products industry. Comprised of more than 50 major industry consumer packaged goods companies, Transora allows all industry participants - suppliers, manufacturers and retailers/distributors - to optimise value chain operations and improve total business productivity via the Internet.
