Two World-Class Partners Join Microsoft in Initiative to Accelerate eBusiness Application Development: ATG Targets the Enterprise with Joint TeamSite-Dynamo Offering; BEA WebLogic Commerce Server to include Interwoven Content Express

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. GearUp 2000 Conference, October 3, 2000 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leading provider of enterprise-class content management software, announced today the launch of its newest partner initiative to embed application specific content management functionality with the leading providers of eBusiness applications. Available immediately, Interwoven is offering components of its product suite to eBusiness application providers who need robust, proven content management solutions to complete their offerings.

The initiative is aimed at eBusiness application providers who service the Global 2000 and have a need for a targeted content management solution customized to the unique requirements of their application suites. The initiative supports a range of business/product models including OEM and reseller arrangements. End-users benefit not only from a tightly integrated solution, but also from the ability to migrate to the same rich content management solution, TeamSite software, in use at existing Interwoven customers such as General Electric, General Motors and Cisco Systems.

Since the announcement of Interwoven Content Express for Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 in June, Interwoven has received multiple requests to offer a broad-reaching OEM and reseller initiative for all of its products. In response, Interwoven has designed a flexible initiative of products and business practices that will meet the needs of eBusiness solution providers around the globe.

"The demand for our content management solutions as an OEM-type product has been unprecedented", said Martin Brauns, CEO and president for Interwoven. "We are already the undisputed leader in enterprise-class content management for our direct end-user customers. It makes sense for us to now take that leadership position into the OEM market for eBusiness solution providers as well."

Two new partners to take advantage of the initiative are leading eBusiness application providers Art Technology Group (ATG) and BEA Systems, Inc.

BEA and Interwoven have entered into an agreement to expand their existing partnership with a more comprehensive personalized eCommerce solution. This solution will provide seamless, out-of-the-box content management included with BEA WebLogic Commerce Server 3.1.

"Based on experience with joint customers such as British Airways and Qantas, we developed this solution with Interwoven for businesses that want to minimize the prolonged selection and buying process," said Ivan Koon, president, BEA E-Commerce Application Components Division. "BEA and Interwoven are committed to providing bundled solutions that allow companies to quickly deploy relevant and differentiated content that drives preferred online customer relationships."

"Interwoven and ATG have over 100 joint, enterprise-class customers to date who have chosen our respective product suites. As an extension of our already successful partnership, we are now offering our customers and partners a fully functional bundle of Interwoven products to meet their needs," said Jeet Singh, CEO for ATG. "This global alliance delivers the full value of Interwoven's content management solution, fully integrated with the ATG Dynamo 5 e-Business Platform."

Time-to-market has been cited as one of the most important measurements for Web successes. This new initiative will allow end users to capitalize on the time advantage of having pre-tested and bundled solutions of applications and content management available from a single point of contact.
