Mobilizes the Workforce Enterprise-Wide Through Breakthrough Ease-of-Use; Extends Content Re-Use to the Extended Enterprise with XML Enhancements

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. GearUp 2000 Conference, October 2, 2000 Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leading provider of enterprise-class content management software, today announced the release of version 4.5 of its TeamSite, TeamSite Templating and OpenDeploy software solutions for the development, management and deployment of business-critical Web sites. The product suite, available immediately, offers new functionality to improve ease-of-use and enable content sharing across the extended enterprise. Key enhancements in version 4.5 are:

* TeamSite Front-Office provides contributors access to TeamSite publishing functions from within Microsoft Office 2000 and Windows Explorer.

* TeamSite Workflow Builder allows business managers to quickly design and modify workflows using simple drag-and-drop, thereby streamlining the development process.

* Extended XML functionality in TeamSite Templating offers superior flexibility for capturing, storing and sharing all types of content using any industry-standard XML DTD.

TeamSite Front-Office allows casual contributors to submit content directly from Microsoft Office 2000 applications and Windows Explorer. TeamSite Front-Office extends a set of predefined TeamSite publishing menus, including the ability to submit content to the TeamSite server. For example, a product manager can publish a white paper simply by selecting a pull-down menu item from within Microsoft Word. This functionality empowers all users to contribute content from their favorite desktop authoring tool without any training.

TeamSite 4.5 is an excellent example of an application that takes advantage of Microsoft Office 2000 extensibility and directly benefits customers, said Scott Garvey, director of industry solutions. By providing Microsoft Office 2000 menu items to allow direct Web publishing, Interwoven is making content contribution as easy as sending a document to the printer.

The new TeamSite Workflow Builder allows business managers to design and modify workflows using a simple drag-and-drop, improving project management and streamlining the development process. Since business managers can now easily build custom workflows, they can ensure that the right content gets to the right person at the right time for the right action without relying on IT or the Web team.

TeamSite Templating provides an integrated, XML publishing solution that enables structured content authoring, enterprise-wide. TeamSite Templating now allows users to capture, store and share content based on any standard XML DTD. Now enterprises can reach beyond their traditional Web properties, enabling targeting of content for segmented audiences regardless of delivery channel. Enterprises can now easily deliver content to any wireless device, B2B exchange or in any number of formats or XML flavors.
