TeamSite Recognized as an Innovative Leader in Content Management for the eBusiness Site

SUNNYVALE, Calif., November 9th, 1999 - Interwoven Inc. (NASDAQ: IWOV), a leading provider of content management software for the enterprise Web, today announced that its flagship product, TeamSite, has been awarded a Crossroads 2000 A-List Award from Open System Advisors, Inc. (OSA). The Crossroads A-List Awards selection relies heavily on positive customer references to select the best enterprise solutions on the market. After thorough interviews with several Fortune 1000 customers, Interwoven TeamSite software was selected as winner in the "working smarter, not harder" category - a testament to TeamSite's ease of use and ability to empower people from throughout an organization to contribute to the Web directly.

"Making the Crossroads A-List for the second year in a row is a gratifying testament to our partnership with our customers," said Martin Brauns, CEO of Interwoven. "Our customers hold us to high standards and we work very closely together to accelerate their online success."

Interwoven customers are Web leaders, Fortune 1000 companies and global organizations whose Web sites are critical to their overall business success. During interviews related to this award, customers told OSA that TeamSite stands out from the crowd because it is a highly scalable solution with a truly open architecture and strong workflow capabilities, elements that are critical for any large eBusiness initiative.

"Interwoven's win is based on the positive real-world experiences of Fortune 500 eBusinesses and fast-growing DotCOMs," said Nina Litton, president of OSA and editor of the Crossroads A-List Awards. "The customers we interviewed have used TeamSite to manage complex Internet sites, and expect to significantly expand the scope of their TeamSite implementations in the coming year. One DotCOM company launched its site and therefore its business in only ten weeks - a pace of development they claim could not have been accomplished without TeamSite."

TeamSite was built specifically for the creation, production and management of very large, complex Internet and intranet Web sites. Its open architecture provides a strong foundation for key Web initiatives - including electronic commerce, customer relationship management, supply chain management and knowledge management - making it an extremely effective platform for both Web leaders and Fortune 1,000 companies looking to transition their businesses to the Web.

The software's browser-based user interface allows non-technical end users to become active, integral participants in the Web development process with little training. TeamSite also offers unparalleled administrative control, system performance and scalability; it allows for the central management of hundreds of thousands of files and maintains high performance as the number of users increases.

The Crossroads A-List Awards clearly outline the business benefits, concisely summarize the technology differentiators, validate solutions with real customer experiences, and provide a basis for informed dialogue between business and technology partners. The Crossroads A-List Awards focus on enterprise computing, the integrated system supporting the business process from the supply chain through the back office all the way to customer interaction.
